She looked up at him, tilting her head before she reached up and kissed his cheek. "I know.. It's okay. I know you would never hurt me."
He gave her a small smile before his phone rang. His smile dropped and he sighed before standing, kissing her head. "Give me a second."
He went out of the room, speaking quietly. She wouldn't be able to hear what he was saying, but he sounded irritated.
He returned after about five minutes, his hair messier than before from running his hand through it. His face warmed when he saw her, but his brow was furrowed. "Hi."
He sat next to her again, taking her hand in his and kissing it, although his eyes were distracted. "Yeah. That was work; apparently they need me to come in."
She watched him adoringly. "Ah.. Alright. Which bookstore do you work at? Maybe I can stop by and give you something to eat later."
