"No," she said thoughtfully, picking up a towel to dry the plates. "I just don't want to deal with them."
He offered her a wet bowl before taking the pot and setting it into the sink. "I get that. Do they live in Sylvaele?"
"And you don't have any siblings," he mused, rolling his sleeves to his elbows. "It must have been lonely growing up."
“Something like that. Ambitious, devoted...” He shrugged, shifting off the water before turning to her, drying his hands on the cloth. “Benevolent. Thoughtful. Intelligent. Beautiful.”
He pulled away from her, taking her hand. “Can I be honest? I’m so looking forward to going to bed with you.”
She grinned at him, her gaze fond. "I missed you too." They made it to the room and she went to get changed into her pajamas.
When she opened her closet, he paused, squinting. As she went to change, he opened the door, squinting as he saw the pajama shirt of his. He took off his own shirt, holding the other one in his hand.
She glanced over playfully as she pulled on her own shirt and got into bed. "I told you I stole one of your shirts."
