He kissed her forehead before sitting up, yawning sleepily, the scars on his back almost silvery in the early morning light. He paused before looking down at her, his face softening as he studied her. "You look so beautiful. How can you look so beautiful after just waking up?"
He hesitated for a moment, glancing over his shoulder for a moment at her hand before looking down at her, kissing her temple before looking out the window. "I have to head to work soon..."
He squinted at her playfully, resting his head on top of hers and kissing her crown. "Nuh-uh. You know I'm not going to tell you that."
"Because you're a distraction to me, Fleur," he said quietly. "I just got the job and I adore you. I just want to balance the two separately for a while."
He slipped his hand under her chin, tilting her head up gently to look at her. "Understand that I would like nothing more than to have you near me at all times," he said quietly. "I just... I gotta keep my distance."
He went over and took his shirt from her closet, slipping it over his head. He paused before turning to her, rolling up his sleeves. "Can I brush your hair?"
She looked up at him curiously, seeming interested and a little surprised as she moved to the edge of the bed. "Yeah, if you'd like to."
He leaned forward, beginning to brush gently, his fingers working through the more stubborn knots. He seemed very careful, his touch soft and hesitant.
