She wiped her cheeks, having stopped crying. "I don't want to sound desperate, Ferris.. but I really don't want to break up."
He looked down at her, frowning. "Look, I... I didn't think I'd be having this conversation right now," he said quietly. "Let's just... talk in the morning, okay?"
She frowned, hesitating. "I don't want you to freak out when you wake up if you forget all of this happened."
"I want you nearby," he insisted, considering her carefully, bracing his hand against the counter to keep himself from falling. "I always want you near."
"Because I'm going to be hungover, and we're going to fight, and I'm just going to want to kiss you, and Santiago's going to disappoint me again."
She sighed, rubbing his back. "It'll be alright. Go brush your teeth. I'm gonna go clean up real quick and then I'll be back."
She kissed his cheek before letting him go, heading back downstairs. Once he went to brush his teeth and go to bed, she cleaned up the house a bit, tossing out the empty bottles and garbage, gathering the papers together, and shutting the windows. Finally, she rinsed her face off and went back upstairs, going to put on one of his shirts.
He was curled up on the bed when she returned, half-asleep. He stirred when she returned and opened his arms to her drowsily.
He kissed her cheek, now smelling like toothpaste. "I missed you," he murmured quietly, running his fingers through her hair.
