The place was fancy, but unintimidating. The lighting was warm and she would hear laughter from the finely dressed people inside. Ferris spoke quietly to the seater, and they were led to a small table by the window that looked out across the city.
She sat down, offering her hand to him. "What made you decide we should have a date night?" she asked curiously, tilting her head at him.
He took it, resting his head on his other hand as he considered the question thoughtfully. "Honestly, I just missed spending time with you," he said with a small shrug. "Plus, I mean... I want to give you the world, Fleur. I want to make everything seamless for you, which isn't something I thought I could do."
"You don't have to do that," she said gently, looking a little embarrassed as she squeezed his hand. "I'm just so glad that I have you.. and sometimes that feels like all I need to be happy."
He laughed a little, his thumb rubbing the back of her hand gently. "If you were Alyssa, I would tell you that that's an unhealthy mindset," he teased.
He gave her a little grin before pouring them some wine. "I think you're pretty great too, Fleur. What do you want to eat?"
He squinted at her, raising one eyebrow. "But you've never had it before. How do you know it's bland?"
