He craned his head upwards before sighing. "We have to go meet my good boss friend," he said flatly, heading for the door. "This is gonna be a bad night."
She followed him, reaching out and touching his arm gently. "Ferris.. I'm sorry to dragging you into all of this."
He glanced back at her, his expression hard to read for a moment. "I shouldn't have stolen from you," he replied. "It's my own fault, really."
He laughed roughly, raising one eyebrow. "What gave it away? The black eye?" He shook his head, rubbing the back of his neck. "There's nothing to be done about it now."
He nodded, heading for the door. "So... this guy lives on the top floor. I need you to stay out of sight, okay? It's really important."
She was quiet for a majority of the time, but eventually stopped to rest a hand on his shoulder, trying to ease the nervousness a bit. "Hey, it'll be okay, right? You'll be okay?"
He glanced over his shoulder at her hesitantly. He said nothing for a few seconds before speaking. "...I'll be okay. Fine. I'll be fine."
Her hand brushed his back, and she nodded encouragingly. "It might not be very reassuring, but.. I'll be close."
