She rolled her eyes, heading off the train. "Hardly."
He followed her, still talking. “You’re letting me sleep in your apartment tonight.”
She looked back at him. "Of course. You're my friend."
“But you see? You’re very kind to me.”
She shrugged. "I suppose.."
“Come on. Let’s just get back to your place. Do you miss your grandmother?”
She nodded. "Yeah. I think I'll visit again."
“When was the last time you saw her before this visit?”
"It's been a long time. Maybe.. 7 or 8 years?"
“Jesus. And we just showed up out of the blue? That’s impolite.”
She frowned slightly. "I suppose it is.."
He paused before ruffling her hair. "I think she was pleasantly surprised. Don't worry."
She looked up at him thoughtfully. "If you say so."
"I'm never wrong, remember?"
She squinted. "I do not recall."
They approached her building and Ferris looked down at her. "You sound like a nonbeliever."
She looked up at him. "Maybe I am."
He frowned, squinting at her. "After all we've been through?"
"I don't believe you're always right."
"Well, that's really hurtful, Princess."
