This seemed to agitate him and he cupped her jaw in his hands. "I wouldn't be able to leave if I thought this was right," he told her quietly. "I can't explain to you how much I want..." He sighed, looking hopeless. "I want you so badly, Fleur. But that's not how this works. I don't get you."
She sighed, leaning into his touch. "You should keep your sister in boarding school, Ferris. It's safe there, and she has a chance at education and a good career."
"Of course I do," she said quietly. "I get.. I get so sad when I think about never seeing you again. But, I still mean I said."
She watched him sadly, taking his hands in hers and setting them down regretfully. "..Family is important. I shouldn't be selfish."
He laughed in disbelief, watching her. “You’re not selfish,” he told her. “Fleur, you’re never selfish.”
"I want you to stay when you should be with your family," she said slowly. "But you should try to keep her in school, Ferris."
He hesitated before he took her hands, holding them in both of his larger ones. "Will you come with me?"
"Come with me," he told her eagerly, his eyes bright. "Just for a bit while we figure this out. I need to check on my sister no matter what, but I don't want to leave this behind."
