"We'd have to share a room because of the spell," she said, "but two bedroom rooms aren't that bad. It'll be fine."
He looked genuinely bewildered but shook his head slowly. “Uh... alright, then... the nearest hotel is...” He paused before pointing down the street. “This way.”
He followed her, looking over his shoulder. "We should... keep it down, Fleur," he said quietly. "Try not to pull attention, okay?"
He nodded, but still looked anxious. They approached a large, dark building. There was a candle lit in the window, though, and Ferris opened the door for her.
There was a young man, his head resting on his hand as he dozed. As they entered, though, he snorted awake, sitting up straight. "Oh. Hi. How, uh... what can I do for you?"
He looked sleepily confused, going over to the sign-in book, scratching his head. "Uh... yeah. Okay. Just for tonight?"
She was watching intensely. "Yes. Just for tonight." She paused, frowning. "And make sure there are two beds."
The man nodded before turning in his chair to a bulletin board with pins in it and keys hanging from the pins. He took one off and slid it across the desk to them. "Room 24. It's all yours."
