Except Walpurgis is actually a Saint, whose day is May 1st. Therefore, the most likely day to invade is May Day, not December 21st. Besides, Walpurgis Night is technically the antithesis of All Hallow's Eve. So instead of dressing up as monsters, you burn them (therefore the dancing around bonfires). Now, who wants to dance around some bonfires on Dec. 21st?
Xaniith, you took my post. well, I know what will happen: Croatia will somehow become leading force in world, and someone will accidentally divide by zero, and whole world will crash while Croatia puts on awesome smiley face. *insert generic Croatia politics joke*
War is what keeps many things in check. As long as humanity exists, resistance to change will always lead to conflict. War is grim, but I view it as (unfortunately) necessary. My beliefs for the future are optimistic, even if my outlook upon general society is quite pessimistic. Fallout is a possible scenario, though the vaults in the games originate from the 1950s in their story. I just think humanity would survive a nuclear war in all the ways we describe.
Either the world will end in bits and pieces, or we'll actually learn how to live together on this world. Give 'er another couple of centuries, and see how things go. My friend and I estimate we've got until 2284. If we don't learn by then, then we won't learn. So I guess we got 272 years to take over the earth, bronies.
