Violet's face began to turn red, "Um... t-tame? W-what do you mean?" She laid down in front of him, but continued to avoid eye-contact.
"Learning about the changelings, finding weaknesses, regicide...", dark replied, getting gradually quieter
Quickstar chuckled. "I grew up in the coastal trading city of Baltimare. Many of the ships that docked had crews from strange lands, with strange ways, stranger than you would ever believe. Oh, of course everypony knows about gryphons, and zebras, and they were quite common sights there, but tell me, have you ever seen a hertasi? Or a tervardi? Legends, some might call them, but I occasionally would run into them on the docks, and believe me, they are very real. I grew up in a veritable menagerie, and I learned very early on that they all deserve to be treated no differently than one would treat a pony." "After all, despite their strange appearances and strange ways, on the inside, they are no different than you or I." He sighed. "I wonder...I wonder if the changelings really are so different. I mean, so little is known about them, and while they may devour love, I see no reason why that love must be forcefully taken. The changelings are a mystery...a mystery I intend to solve."
"Honestly, no stranger than a changeling, in my opinion. Or half-changeling, as the case may be," he said, giving Violet a sideways glance. "If anything, I see you as evidence that it really is possible for changelings and ponies to cooperate, that perhaps all we need is to learn more about them in order to stop fearing them." He then turned his head, gazing in the direction he knew the changeling hive to be. "And above all, I understand that an entire species should not be condemned for the actions of their leaders."
Dark told Jackie,"yeah.", & said to star,"if we were afraid of them, then why are we here?", & smiles slyly
"But Chrysalis just wanted what was best for her kind..." Violet looked up at Jackie, "Um... hi..." She hung her head sadly, "Am I a traitor for going against my own kind?" She whispered, then glanced around, finally settling on Quickstar, "I think they take love by force because nopony understands them, and just judges them constantly..." Violet shook her head tiredly, "I-I hate to be a bother... but if someone could just... um, give me some love, then I think I'll be fine." Violet blushed fiercely, "I-I'm really sorry, everypony... but I am part Changeling..." She lowered her slitted eyes, embarrassed and suffering from a dangerously low amount of love.
"The better question is, if we don't fear them, then why don't we just leave them alone?" All humor had vanished from his voice. "That hive may be a threat, but the changelings in it are only soldiers, following orders. The only one to blame for their actions is their queen. She is the threat, not the entire changeling race. Remember that." With that, Quickstar bent down, willing to offer however much love Violet needed. After all, he had plenty to spare.
