Pinkie Pie is such a charming character. She's very bubbly and eccentric, which I find to be great qualities in a character (provided it's done right).
She's has her moments where she is annoying to me, but mostly she's so hilarious, even when she's mad, like in the Applejack Breaks her Pinkie Promise video.
I wouldn't use either of these words in the context given, but they can also both be true. Pinkie is for lack of a better word, eccentric, and some people may find that as a plus in terms of charm but others may find it annoying. Seeing as how this is a question based on personal opinion not much is left to debate besides a back and forth of "uh huh" "nuh uh" "uh huh" "nuh uh" I personally find an eccentric girl to be a delight, so take that how you will.
I don't think she's annoying or charming, but rather the word I would use to describe her is simply HILARIOUS. She is so totally the comic relief in the show and she cracks me up. I will vote charming though simply because I like her rather than am annoyed by her.
This pretty much is what I think; Only pony that makes me laugh more is Derpy for obvious reasons. /offtopic: Pinkie Pie's "pinkie sense" is amazing, love it.
I just started watching FiM recently so I'm still in season 1. I've heard lots about Derpy but I have actually not seen an ep with Derpy in it, I'm watching FiM on netflix and I just finished watching the episode where the Cutie Mark Crusaders form. anything past that I haven't had a chance to watch yet. But I look forward to getting to see Derpy as I have a feeling it's gonna be awesome!
You've already seen Derpy. You just don't know to look for her. She in almost every episode where there's any kind of crowd. She's in the very first episode even. Look around in the background during Pinkie's party.
Yami is right, Derpy is kinda like a "Find Waldo" type character but Derpy has a speaking role in Season 2 Episode 14,"The Last Roundup".
Oh and do be aware that the version of The Last Roundup they have on Netflix is not the original. They took Derpy's name out and changed her voice. But this is getting off-topic. :derpe:
Well, seeing as how I'm prolly the one who instigated this thread in the first place, by voicing the opinion that I find her to be more annoying than anything most of the time, I should prolly clarify. Pinkie is funny, but in a really goofy way, kinda like Austin Powers. They're funny, but the way they go about it is kinda grating on the nerves until you get used to it. And even then, it gets annoying very rapidly again when over done. In small doses, I'm fine with Pinkie, I even find her to be quite funny. But too much of her over-the-top personality wears on me very fast.
She's a bit annoying at rare occasions, but that's just her personality. She's hyperactive, and she gets annoying when she's not allowed to be hyperactive.
Which is something that I can relate to. I'm pretty hyperactive and I get pretty agitated when I'm not allowed to be. So I completely understand her position. Probably has a lot to do with why I do not find her to be annoying for the most part, just funny and good feelings from Pinkie for me.
I think that is the intention though since in the show, everypony seems to have gotten used to it (except from Twilight, but that's kinda to be expected since she is like the new pony and all that); Either way, I couldn't find her annoying even if I tried. Best kinda party is a Pinkie Pie party.
