She sighed. "Fine."
He hesitated before leaning down quickly, kissing just below her ear. “I’ll be back.”
She nodded slowly. "I'll see you."
He gave her a hesitant smile before leaving the infirmary, closing the door behind him.
She laid back, shutting her eyes.

He entered the room several hours later, looking tired.
Avice was curled around Aubrey, asleep.
He yawned slightly, coming over and slipping into bed next to her.
She shifted slightly, turning her head.
He wrapped his arms around her, yawning.
She leaned against him, her eyes fluttering sleepily. "You're back."
"Mmhm," he murmured tiredly. "Like I promised.
She placed her hand over his. "Missed you."
"Missed you too, baby," he murmured quietly, kissing the top of her head.
She yawned, shutting her eyes again.
He hummed sleepily under his breath.
