“We’ll figure it out,” he murmured, his brows furrowed. “We’ll make it work.”
She nodded, looking up at him and brushing back his hair nervously.
He kissed her forehead, looking worried.
She wrapped her arms around him. "I'm tired.."
He frowned, kissing the top of her head. “Go back to sleep.”
She nodded, slipping out of his arms and pulling the blanket over herself.
He brushed her hair back before standing up, heading for the door.
She shut her eyes, drifting off quickly.

Jack was quiet as they left the doctor’s, his brow furrowed.
Avice was silent as well, keeping her eyes down.
He finally sighed and looked over at her. “What do you think?”
She shook her head slowly. "I don't know."
He stopped, turning to look at her and taking her hand. “I can’t lose you, Avice.”
She didn't meet his gaze. "I'm not.. He-he said the chances of mishap were low.."
