"Sorry about yesterday," she murmured. "I didn't mean it."
“You’re fine,” he murmured, brushing his fingers through Aubrey’s hair. “I reacted poorly.”
She nodded. "No.. It's okay.. We're fine."
“Yeah. Still. Sorry.”
She shook her head. "Don't be sorry. It's fine."
He brushed her hair back before looking down at the babies, falling silent.
She kept close to them, waking up slowly.
A low, quiet humming came from his throat, but it was hard to hear.
She smiled warmly, relaxing.
Sawyer yawned, his eyes fluttering open.
She reached for Jack's hand, her touch soft.
He took it as Sawyer looked up at them with eyes that matched his father's.
She smiled, kissing Sawyer's cheek.
He gurgled, reaching for her hair.
She chuckled, her eyes bright.
He gurgled, patting her face.
She kissed his hand. "Who is this cute baby?"
"Sawwer," Aubrey replied primly, waking up.
She looked at Aubrey. "Who is that cute baby?"
She looked confused. "Me?"
