He laughed under his breath, crossing his arms as he watched.

Avice approached him awhile later, her cheeks tinged pink. She was drunk.
He raised an eyebrow, tilting his head. “Hey, Rohesia.”
"Jack," she replied, the words warm in her mouth. "The first mate Jack."
“Yeah,” he said with a nod. “That’s me.”
"You look lonely."
"I'm not lonely," he said with a small grin. "Don't worry."
She took his hands, tugging on them. "C'mooon!"
He frowned, tilting his head. "Where are we going?"
"Socializinggg."
"Oh, Avice," he said, pulling away hesitantly. "I don't think that's a good idea."
She frowned, letting go of his hands. "You don't want to?"
"Maybe we should get you to bed," he said, not unkindly.
She shook her head. "C'mon, Jack. Live a little!"
He seemed uncomfortable, shaking his head. "Not today, Avice. Some other time."
She frowned, stepping back. "Alright.. sorry."
