“Good. Anytime.”
She chuckled, squeezing his hand. "How much exactly did I owe you?"
“I’ll forgive the sum for your birthday.”
She grinned. "Did you forget?'
"No. I never forget."
"How much was it?"
"50."
"Hm.. Touche."
He kissed her cheek before reaching into the stroller. "Anyway, we have a picnic."
She grinned. "Sounds lovely."
"Aubrey helped with the sandwiches," he explained, unfolding the blanket.
"She did? That's lovely."
"They're a little messy."
She grinned. "I don't mind."
He set the basket on the blanket and pulled the babies into his lap.
She sat down, her expression warm.
He glanced in. "So, we have ham and tomato, or turkey and swiss. Which one?"
"Turkey and swiss, please."
He passed her the sandwich, sloppily wrapped in butcher paper. "Here, birthday girl."
She smiled slightly, rolling her eyes. "Don't call me that.."
