"I don't know. Birthday girl is just a weird title, y'know?"
"But you're my birthday girl."
She pursed her lips. "Minus the birthday, then it'll be okay."
"My girl?"
"Better."
"My sweet girl."
She grinned, moving to lean against him lovingly.
He kissed the top of her head, his fingers brushing through her hair.
She remained their as they enjoyed their picnic, her freehand on his back.
He hummed under his breath slowly, his voice low and warm.
She listened, keeping quiet.
He finished slowly, and Aubrey and Sawyer had dozed off in his lap.
She was relaxed, resting against him quietly.
He kissed her head. "We're going to zipline."
She looked up at him. "What?"
“Zip line. We’re going to do it.”
"That sounds scary, but fun."
“Yes. It’s right up your alley, I think.”
"Are you doing it, too?"
