He smirked, kissing the tip of her nose. “Patience.”
"I'm not a patient person."
“I know, babe. It’s good, though.”
"I'll wait."
“Good choice.”
"I suppose so."
“I’ll make it worth your while, I promise,” he said smoothly, squeezing her hand.
She chuckled. "Any time with you is worth while."
“Absence makes the heart grow fonder.”
“And it has been a long time.”
"Quite awhile."
“Months.”
She tilted her head. "Too long."
"Yeah," he admitted quietly. "Much too long."
She kissed his nose. "No worries."
“No worries.”
She nodded, pulling away.
He took another gigantic bite of his sandwich before returning to make the kids' food.
She kissed his cheek before sitting back down, leaning back.
