She went to look at the pies, keeping her eyes low on the ground as she walked. She nearly made it to the stand before running into somebody abruptly. She blinked, stumbling back and muttering apologies embarrassedly, looking up before freezing, her mouth hanging open before she started muttering incomprehensible words. He wasn't looking at her, picking up his things he dropped.
She panicked watching him with wide eyes. He looked down at her in confusion before blinking. "You should watch where you.. Do I know you?" She could barely speak as her eyes scanned his face, looking rather small. "I.. I.. I.. S-Sor.."
Jack's jaw unhinged and he began choking down more oranges. The marketperson looked at him with wide eyes.
He frowned, becoming annoyed. "Spit it out already. What are you, stupid? I shouldn't think otherwise. Stuttering, crazy woman who doesn't watch where she's going. Of course." He grabbed her wrist. "Who are you?" She flinched, panicking further.
Jack choked down the orange and smiled at the salesperson. "I am your God now," he said sweetly, turning around and heading the way Avice had gone.
Jack noticed and his brows furrowed as he moved forward, taking Avice's hand. "May I help you?" he asked, his voice colder than she would have ever heard it.
