"Uh.. Okay. You should draw a picture too."
"Of a cat?"
"How about a boat?"
"Oh. That might make sense."
Avice nodded, sitting up and folding her legs.
"I can't write on the bed very well..."
Avice stood up. "Here. Let's go to the table."
"Okay, Mama."
She yawned, going to set the paper on the table.
Aubrey dropped her handful of crayons and carefully picked out a blue one. "Nat likes this color."
"Do you want to write with that one, then?"
"Yes," she said matter-of-factly. "It's like our eyes, Mama."
She chuckled, kissing her cheek. "How cute."
"We all have blue eyes."
"Yes, we do."
"Is that okay? Why don't we have brown eyes?"
"I'm not sure. Blue eyes are good too, though."
"Can the next baby have purple eyes?"
Avice pursed her lips. "I don't think we'll have another."
"Why not?"
