"H..." She began to write it out.
"Mhmm."
She switched crayons halfway between writing, but finished the word. "Now what?"
"Say you want to go on the ship.
"On the ship... could you write it for me?"
"Sound out each word."
"It's so much, though."
"You'll get better."
"I don't know, Mama..."
"I promise you will."
“Can you write it for now?”
"Its gotta be from you."
'"I can sign my name at the end."
Avice rolled her eyes playfully. "Why do I have to do it?"
"Because it's a lot."
"I'll give you candy."
"I'm not supposed to take candy from people."
