She smiled gently, turning her head to kiss him. "I love you too."
"Ew, Mama."
Avice chuckled. "Oh, shush. You'll understand one day."
"Nope. No, I won't."
"Surely you'll be fine if your dad and I do it."
"No. I'm never gonna do that."
"Hm. Alright then."
She nodded, satisfied, before pulling Sawyer into her arms.
Avice put her head back on his shoulder, closing her eyes.
He kissed the top of her head.
She grinned, pulling the blanket closer and closing her eyes.
He hummed under his breath.
She listened, her thumb rubbing the back of his neck.
He closed his eyes, burying his face in her neck.
She said nothing, relaxing.
Jack fell asleep slowly, his lips slightly parted.
She did the same, her head on his.
