"Because I don't want to disappoint you, that's why." She took a step back, brushing back her hair self-consciously.
"Because you don't like me, and then things would be awkward and you wouldn't want to hang out with me anymore and then I would sad because I managed to scare away my best friend."
"I like you too," he said in a low voice, counting on the fact that she wouldn't remember when she was sober. "Don't tell anyone, though."
Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth in excitement. "Oh, gosh, really? This is.. Oh jeez." Suddenly she wrapped her arms around him squeezing tightly. "Victory!"
He laughed, surprised by the action. He hugged her back, his arms wrapping around her shoulders. "You're not going to remember this later, you know."
"I don't care!" she said excitedly, her words quick. She stood on her toes to kiss his cheek, moving backwards is afterwards. "All the matters is now!"
He watched with a sad smile. There was a hesitance, and he knew that drunkenness caused people to say things they didn't mean. Still, he enjoyed it while it lasted, watching her dance. The kiss burned on his pink cheeks, and he smiled at her, his head cocked slightly.
Avice would eventually settle down after a bit more excitement, it became evident only after she walked back over to Jack, sitting down in front of him. "Aaaauuuugh. I'm already tired! This isn't fair!"
He slid down the wall to sit next to her. "Do you want me to take you back to your room?" he asked gently.
He watched her for a moment, his eyes soft. He sighed and tapped her shoulder affectionately. "Come on. I'll take you back."
