She laughed, shaking her head. "Even though we didn't look around much, I follow wherever you go. Let's sleep, then."
She took his hand, her expression warm as she led him back. "I don't mind. Being with you at all is wonderful."
He pulled her close to him, looking thoughtful. "I don't like the idea that something made me forget you that easily."
Her touch seemed to relax him, but his brows were still furrowed with concern, his alert blue eyes watching her thoughtfully. "...I don't know. You're the best thing that's ever come into my life, Avice. I can't believe I just forgot that."
She propped herself up, adopting a more serious expression. "It wasn't your fault. Nobody could have stopped that. I know that you think I'm important, but things happen sometimes. The brain is weird."
