She shook her head. "Don't apologize, Jack. Not your fault."
"It was a little my fault."
"You stopped me from getting hurt. You don't have to apologize for that."
"That's true. I guess I'm kinda noble, huh?"
"Oh definitely. A true gentleman. My gentleman."
He laughed, kissing her cheek. He smelled vaguely of cinnamon. "You're sweet."
She took in his scent before turning and kissing him lightly. "You smell like cinnamon."
"Do I? It's the oatmeal."
She grinned. "You're so cute."
He flushed. "Don't..."
She leaned towards him, resting her hand on his jaw as she kissed him again.
He flushed deeper, his brow furrowing.
She pulled away, her eyes bright.
"You can't just do that..."
"Why not?"
"Because it makes me blush..."
"So?"
"So..."
She tilted her head.
"You can't..."
