She looked up at him. "I love you."
"I love you too, silly thing. Do you want soup?"
She nodded. "Yes, please."
He pulled away, bringing her the bowl.
She took it. "Thank you."
"Of course. How's the unpacking going?"
"All done. Just you're coat."
"Hmm. Want to lie down?"
She tilted her head. "With the soup?"
"Dinner in bed!"
She shrugged. "Sure. Join me?"
He sat on the edge of the bed, yawning.
She got into the bed, careful not to spill.
He laid back on the bed, leaving the soup on the bedside table.
She rested against him, eating her soup.
His arms slipped around her waist, and he kissed her cheek lightly.
She relaxed under his touch. "Tired?"
"Always."
She chuckled. "Well.. You should eat before you sleep."
"Ugh. Eating is for squares."
