Avice was in her shop. She had things in boxes, the flowers set off to the side as she did her task with her mouth set in a hard line.
The bell rang as Tuck stepped in, holding a small cone of ice cream. "Avice, you gotta try this..." He trailed off, looking around. "What's going on?"
She looked sad, gazing down at the boxes. "Because I can't afford to keep up with shop while my family is struggling."
He looked dismayed, taking her hand. "What? I... I could help you pay! My family would be happy to give you money."
She looked around the shop, her expression somewhat melancholy. It looked more dull without the flowers everywhere. "I really can't accept your money."
He looked desperate. "You can't leave," he said before he brightened. "How about this? I want to buy all the flowers in your shop."
His blue eyes met hers and he looked down at her, squeezing her hands. "We need a florist for the wedding," he said quietly. "And who else would I want besides you?"
She watched him, her eyes hopeful and warm, though she looked like she were about to cry a little. "I don't know what to say.. Thank you."
