She pulled her hand from behind her back, showing him mini manicotti.
He looked relieved, taking the package. "What would I do without you?"
She kissed his cheek. "Suffer from indecisiveness."
"Definitely that," he agreed, rubbing her back. "I love you."
"I love you too. Very much."
He beamed at her before beginning to make the pasta.
She mixed the sauce.
Good work, Avice! Tuck looked over at her for a moment, his gaze thoughtful. "Are you a good cook?"
She looked up at him. "Meh. Cooking isn't really my hobby. You?"
"I had to take a lot of classes when I was younger. I wasn't bad at cooking. Aubrey was, though."
"She's bad at something..?"
"No. She would use the ingredients to make potions, ignoring the cooking prompt."
She laughed. "Ah. Makes sense."
"I'm sure she's an excellent cook," he continued. "She's just better at being a badass."
"Mm. Probably. It sounds like Aubrey."
He huffed, straining the noodles. "She was never very good at following the questions."
She kissed his cheek. "It doesn't seem like her thing."
"Not at all."
She sighed, adding a few things to the sauce. "You can still write her, right?"
"Not really. The letter needs a return address."
