They stepped into the fresh air. The deck was clear of people, and he walked to the wall of the ship. "Better?"
He kissed her forehead, and they stood looking out to the water for a while. "I love you, Av," he said quietly.
He looked down at her, his head tilted. "But I don't think you get it," he said, raising his head to look out to the sea. "I really love you. Like... I think meeting you might be the single most important thing that's ever happened to me."
She brightly up at him, her eyes loving. "Oh, Jack," she said happily. "I'm so glad that I'm with you."
She kissed him deeply, her fingers brushing his cheeks softly. She felt lucky to be able to be so near him.
He pulled away after a few moments. "You know," he said with a grin. "You're putting all your trust in me right now. I could throw you overboard, and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it."
"That's a lot of trust for one person to hold," he said quietly, resting his head against hers. "Do you worry that it's misplaced?"
