"You don't know that," she said tilting her head. "Three of them, Jack."

 

"But you getting hurt as well would have made things worse. Besides, it was only one stab."

 

She tilted her head at him.

"I'd rather me than you."

 

"I know," she said. "I like proving my points."

 

She squinted at him.

"Of which you are not on the list."

 

She pursed her lips, a smile threatening to take over.

"I was just saying."

 

"So we can agree that you would lose the argument thus leading to the fact that it was not your fault, correct?"

 

"Sorry, but my mind has been made up. That's the final decision."

 

"Ex-cuse me?"

 

"Well," she said, raising an eyebrow, "I think you should realize that it wasn't your fault."
