He dropped his head, an undercurrent of stress running through his body. "I hope so. There's a lot of little pieces at play here."
She gently turned his head to look at her. "I know," she said, her voice soothing. "It won't last long though, okay?"
His brows were furrowed with worry, but his bright blue eyes held her gaze, looking at her as if she was a lifeline in a storm. "You don't know that..."
He observed her for a moment, his hand lightly brushing through her hair, before he sighed heavily and kissed her, his mouth strangely urgent. "What would I do without you...?" he murmured.
She kissed his cheek when they pulled away, her eyes obviously concerned. "It's a good thing I'll always be here."
He sighed and rested his forehead against hers, closing his eyes. "Thank you," he murmured eventually, quietly. "Thank you."
He closed his eyes and sighed heavily, his brows still knitted with concern. "Don't look at me like that," he said eventually, a hint of a smile threatening his mouth.
