She grinned, and rested her head on her hand, looking at him from the corner of her eye. "Whaaat? No way! No sarcasm here, whatsoever." (Phone is officially screwed. It got worse overnight. Won't be able to message for a bit.)
"I think you can be funny, yes," she said, her words thoughtful. "Although, not when you're making fun of how I feel."
She shook her head, unsure whether she was annoyed or in denial with her emotions. "You're saying that because you're my friend."
"No, I'm not," he said, almost sternly, turning to look at her with his bright eyes. He wasn't quite sure why it was such a struggle to get the words out, and he debated with himself what to say. "I promise I'm not just saying that."
She pursed her lips, running her hand over a cannon thoughtfully. Her fingers tapped them, feeling the small scratches that ran along them, and she looked back at him, a fierce spark in her eyes. "I don't think we should talk about this anymore, unless you want to, because this is something I'd like to forget, I think."
"I believe it's something that is probably better ignored." She sighed. "But I want to know your opinion as well."
"You told me that," she said, her eyebrows furrowing. "Look, I'm- I'm sorry if I'm acting like an idiot right now."
"You're not," he said, resting his hands on her shoulders and meeting her gaze. "Your feelings are not idiotic or unimportant."
She didn't tense when his hands held her shoulders, and she seemed slightly surprised. "Let's not talk about this for now. Is that okay?"
She turned back to the window, peering out. "Thank you," she said quietly, her hands folding. "I doubt it will remain unspoken of for long, anyways.."
He studied her carefully with a small smile. "We will talk about it someday," he said, his brow furrowing. "Okay?"
"Why?" she asked curiously, glancing back at him with a raised eyebrow. "Is this another thing to boost your ego?"
"No, I'm just asking why you would want to talk about it, assuming you would. It just doesn't seem like something..." she trailed off, shaking her head. "Never mind."
