She continued to threateningly move towards him, a malicious grin on her face. Though, she was stopped when her foot caught on lose rope on the ground, and she tripped, finding the mistake funnier than the situation and laughing as it happened.
He caught her, laughing deeply. He straightened up, and found himself face to face with her. His eyes had a tendency to analyze anything they landed on, and they studied her face, warm but thoughtful.
She raised her eyebrows, a wide smile on her face. Still invested in the game, she reached up to smear dust on the side of his face, the movements smooth and carefree.
He blinked, and then he grinned. He caught her hand and took some of the dust with his pointer finger and tapped it onto the tip of her nose. "Payback."
She squinted at him, then looked down, only to realize something. "Bit close, aren't we, Mr. Curnow?"
"Technically, that was the ropes fault," she said, stepping back and brushing herself off. "But, I'll have to give this argument up easily. I, personally, thought it was pretty funny." She wiped the dust off her nose.
"It was," he agreed, trying to wipe off the dust and missing most of it. "I should have known you would have fallen."
She grinned, shaking her head. "Perfectly timed, right? And, uh, you still have some dust..." She motioned to her face, before stepping up to him, and began to wipe it off, her hands gentle. "I'll get it."
She blinked, pulling her hands away self-consciously. "I know. That is exactly why I did it," she said teasingly, crossing her arms.
"No, I'm just saying that I could kill you, despite what previous evidence shows," she said, brushing her hands off.
"Yes, but you went as far as giving me your sword, and I think that was a little crazy." She paused, clearing her throat. "Are you crazy? Maybe I just haven't realized it."
