He followed behind her, his eyes wide as he stared at the ground, ignoring the fear that was encircling his heart.
She watched as her ship sailed away, lifting her hand, sand caking her fingertips. "Come back," she croaked. "Come back." She managed to push herself up, her blood staining the sand. she saw the approaching Corps and cursed, forcing herself up. She cried out before steadying herself, and as quickly as she could, she ran.
(Zoom!) ~Several Months Later~ Jack stood on the deck, his hands pressed flat against the barrier that kept him from falling into the sea. His shoulders were tense, and he frowned, thinking carefully.
He paused and studied her before wrapping an arm around her shoulders and kissing her temple. "It's good to see you."
