"Seriously though, if you need to get up I'll move."
"I'm the captain," he teased, slight sadness staining his voice. "I don't need to do anything."
She took his face in her hands. "Not even listen to your girlfriend?"
He blinked at her, his eyes warm. "Not even that."
She kissed him softly. "I'm hurt."
"I'm a free bird, babe," he replied sarcastically, raising an eyebrow.
She smiled slightly and sat up carefully, looking out the window.
He stretched. "What is it?"
She glanced back at him. "Nothing. Just wanted to sit for a second."
He sighed, frowning up at her. "We do have work to do."
She frowned. "I know."
He sat up and put his arm over her shoulder, kissing her temple. "What do you have to do today?"
She leaned into him, pursing her lips. "Just the usual."
"Clean cannons?" he asked with a grin.
She laughed. "That's part of it."
"What else?" he asked, brushing his fingers through her hair.
"Just normal tasks," she replied quietly. "It's boring. What about you?"
He frowned. "More maps. And I need to finish clearing out her room."
She glanced at him. "Sounds like work."
"It is," he replied, meeting her gaze. "But we all have jobs to do, don't we?"
