He frowned, rubbing small circles on the back of her hand with his thumb. "Well," he said eventually, "I think she's really glad you're here."
He grinned at her. "I was in medical school! It counts. And besides, I've personally kept your body sewn together, so I don't really need any backtalk."
"Oh, shut up," he muttered playfully, kissing her cheek. "Next time I'll just be a coward and let you bleed out."
