He kissed the tip of her nose. “No crying.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck. "Fine."
He grinned cheerfully. “Excellent! I can scratch that off my list of worries.”
She raised a finger. "For now!"
"Uh uh. You promised. No crying."
"I did not promise," she said. "I won't cry for now."
"Don't make me drop you."
She grinned. "You wouldn't."
"I would. Promise me you won't cry or you're going down in 3...2..."
She wrapped her arms around him tightly. "I promise nothing!"
He cleared his throat. "3..2.."
She held tight, hoping she wouldn't fall if he let go.
"1." He jumped in the air with her, hoping to startle her."
She yelped, obviously fooled by his trick before she smacked his shoulder. "Jerk!"
He laughed deeply, shifting her in his arms. "Sorry, baby."
She glared at him. "You're mean. Now I'm definitely not sleeping with you.'
"What a pity," he said, setting her down gently. "I'll miss you."
She frowned. "You better."
"Just sleep with me," he suggested. "I'd cry otherwise. "
She shook her head. "Nope."
