The medic frowned before turning to her associates. "We need to get him back to the ship now." She turned back to Avice. "Could you keep talking to him, please? Ask him questions?"
It took a moment for him to answer, his brow furrowed as he watched her. “Blue house. Small blue house.”
He frowned, his lips pursing as he considered the answer. “You... you want it to be just us. You don’t want kids.”
“But it would be a sacrifice for you,” he replied, raising an eyebrow. The medics shifted him onto the stretcher and he winced but kept eye contact with her. “Right?”
He blinked, obviously surprised. The medics spoke in a quiet tone before they began to move and Jack frowned. “Oh. I didn’t realize...”
“Uh huh. Sure,” he began, cutting out sharply to gasp from pain. He gave her a strained grin and continued. “Girls can never resist a guy with a scar and I’ve got the makings of one right here.”
