She raised an eyebrow, before lowering her voice so only he could hear. "Oh yeah? You should be, because if you don't start talking in the next thirty seconds I'm going to cut out your tongue, that way you can be as useful to everyone else as you're being with us right now. Sound good?"
He went pale and Jack leaned on his hand thoughtfully, looking up at Avice wth adoring eyes. “She will. I’ve seen her do it.” The man swallowed and began to speak in a rushed voice. “I really don’t know much, okay? I just... they’re working in something really big. Some weapon of mass destruction. Do you know the fields of Edolier magic?”
He hesitated. “When Edolier mages are infused, they get a choice of which magical field they get to go into. They could go into elemental magic, electricity, plasma, light, or force.”
“Well,” he said hesitantly, “when I left, they were trying to find a way to infuse one object with... all of them.”
He shook his head slowly. “Whoever they put in charge of operating that thing will have to be very powerful; that kind of weapon.... it would have a mind of its own.”
He laughed slightly. “Almost. That much power couldn’t be easily conducted by just any machine. It’d have to be almost as complex as a living organism.”
