He sighed, shaking his head. “Fine.” He paused before glancing up at her. “I love you, Avice Rohesia.”
He gave her a loving smile, his clear eyes focused on her. Finally, he shook his head and shooed her away. “Go ahead. Abandon me forever.”
He chuckled lightly before going quiet, his arms crossed as he leaned back in chair. Pausing for a moment, he opened the desk drawer, searching for the note.
The words were written neatly in her handwriting, a heart and smiley face by the signature. "You are greater than you think, I promise! You're everything to me I constantly miss you, even when you're right next to me. You're everything I ever need and I love every part about you. You don't like to think highly of yourself, but I see you as my universe. I used to not want to get my hopes up because I never saw a chance, but now that I don't need to worry, they're stuck in the clouds. You drive me crazy, but it's in a good way. I love you. I love you. I love you. You're the best decision I ever made. Love, Av P.S. You're my soul mate and I love you."
He held the note gingerly as he read it, a small smile crossing his face. He sighed when he finished, leaning back. Taking a moment to think, he finally kissed the heart by her signature, folded the note and bent his head over the desk to write her another.
She opened the door, quieting when she realized he was asleep. She quietly stepped over to him, kissing his cheek softly.
He shifted sleepily but didn't wake and Avice would then notice that the drawer next to him was slightly ajar.
