She laughed brightly at first before her expression twitched, and it turned a bit fearful. She gasped, and it became fierce before she moved forward and threw a fist at him.
Jack gasped in pain, backing off as she hit him. He scrambled away from her, his hand to his face to control the blood as he watched her with wide eyes. "A-Avice?"
She had fear in her eyes as tears pricked the corners, shaky hands covering her mouth to silence any noise she made.
"Avice, w-what's going on?" he asked warily, taking a dirty shirt from the hamper to try to clean the blood from his face. "What... what did I do?"
She released a single sob, before looking down, her eyes wide with terror. "S-Sorry.. I'm sorry. Sorry. I didn't mean to.. I'm sorry."
"Hey..." he began in a soothing voice, going to move closer against her before deciding against it. "It's alright. You're alright. Just breathe."
“It was an accident,” he soothed, holding the cloth to his face. “I should have stopped coming towards you anyway.”
She looked up at him, her eyes wide. She seemed hesitant to touch him. "I- Um. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
He was still back against the wall, his posture a mixture of supportive and fearful. “It’s okay, baby. It’s okay.”
She lookrd up at him with wide, teary eyes. Her expression was frightened, and she traced his features worriedly before opening her arms in a hesitant fashion, the action almost expectant.
He hesitated, his eyes revealing his nervousness. He scooted forward slightly, ready to dart away if need be.
His hesitance stopped her, and she took quick, nervous breaths. Her hands ran through her hair and she scooted away a bit. "I'm sorry.. I'm sorry."
He pressed the cloth to his face, exposing the droplets of blood staining the white linen. “It’s alright. It’s alright, Av. You didn’t mean to.”
She noticed the blood, her expression froze and she shook her head. "I did hurt you. I did. I'm.. no good. Bad."
“No!” he protested, scooting closer to her. “No, baby, it’s fine. This is just a nosebleed or something. I’m okay. Really.”
