He shook his head. "Please don't stab yourself."
She laughed. "I won't. I promise. No cheating, though."
"Perfect," he agreed, squeezing her hand. "I'll see you around."
"I'll see you," she said, before turning and going.
He paused, a small smile on his lips, before turning to go speak with people.

A bit later, Avice pursed her lips, her hands folded neatly in front as she looked around curiously.
"Hey, baby," Jack's voice spoke lowly in her ear.
She jumped, turning to look at him. "Jesus!"
He flinched, his hand out almost to protect himself. "Aah, sorry!"
She sighed heavily. "You scared me!"
"I'm sorry," he repeated, watching her almost warily, dropping his hands. "I didn't mean to."
She took his hands, shaking her head. "It's okay. It was an accident."
He nodded, relieved. "Did you find anything?"
She frowned. "Not much, unfortunately. Just what we've already learned."
"Me neither," he said with a frustrated sigh. "We've learned nothing."
She crossed her arms thoughtfully. "We'll find something. Don't worry!'
He shook his head, tugging at his curls. "This was a huge waste of time."
"No it wasn't," she reassured, holding his arm. "The day isn't over, yet. We still have time!"
