He didn't seem to hear her, staring up at the sky. The blue light grew brighter still, swirling down to his fingertips.
All at once, the blue light faded and Jack's body relaxed, his eyes closing. His chest moved heavily as he struggled to breathe, his hands coming up to rest on his chest.
There was a pause for a moment before he opened his eyes, his gaze resting on her. "Hey," he croaked.
He grunted slightly, trying to sit up. "Hey... hey, hey, hey. What's..." He paused, looking around. "What's going on?"
"I'll tell you later," she said urgently, looking back at the window standing up, and offering her hand. "We need to leave right now.
His brow furrowed in concern. "Hey... hey. Don't cry. Everything's alright," he said as he walked with her.
