(Zoop!) Jack remained in Natalia’s room, watching his hands. He snapped his fingers and a spark grew from his palms into a flame.
Avice rested shakily on the bed, her arms wrapped tightly and uncertainly around one of his pillows. The papers were scattered on his desk, messy from her reading them.
Jack frowned, pacing the room. Wind seemed to blow underneath his feet, throwing papers everywhere. “Natalia would be furious,” he thought idly.
Avice stood, wiping her eyes as she organized the papers and set them down, leaving the room to look for him. Eventually, there was a hesitant knock on Natalia's door.
He sat up, wincing. “Avice, you can’t come in,” he said, looking over the plants that had begun to take over the corner of the room. “It’s a warzone over here.”
There was silence as she took a breath, but her voice still broke when she went to speak. "I need you."
He paused, listening to her speak before he sighed and headed to the door, unlocking it to look at her almost warily.
She opened her mouth to speak, but faltered, a soft sob coming put instead. "I'm.. I'm sorry I didn't trust you. I'm sorry." She hid her face in her hands, as if she were ashamed. "I'm sorry I've been acting so stupid.'
He opened the door wider almost instinctively before he hesitated, closing it back to where only his face was visible. “Don’t worry, Av,” he said softly. “It’s alright.”
"It's not alright," she told him, wiping off tears. "It's not. I just want you and you can't come near me. It's not alright. I didn't trust you, either. Good relationships are built off of trust and I'm ruining it all."
She shook her head, moving to sit on her knees. She couldn't seem to face him directly. "I'm sorry. I'm.. I'm sorry."
He sighed and opened the door, sitting down across from her and pulling her into his lap. “It’s okay,” he murmured, rubbing her back. “It’s okay.”
She took a breath, and looked up at him with tired eyes. "I thought.. I thought you didn't want to be near me?"
He frowned, a little irritated. “I never said that. I said I couldn’t be near you, not that I didn’t want to.”
