"Welll," she murmured, dragging it out thoughtfully, "somewhat." After a moment, she presented him a flower crown made from wire and paper, similar to the bouquet be had given her. The paper was painted different colors with watercolor, and the flowers weren't perfect, but there was an obvious effort in them. "You can tell me if you don't like it.."
He paused, his gaze landing lightly on it. His head tilted as if he were trying to solve a problem in his head and he stepped forward, his hand raised to hold it gently. He hesitated when he was about an inch away, his eyes flickering up to hers. “It’s for me?”
His eyes returned to the crown and he took it delicately, holding it as if it were a tiny bird that had fallen from its nest. He inspected it with a strange sense of awe, his gaze filled with love. Finally, he looked back up at Avice. “Wow. You... Wow.”
She gave him a crooked grin, rubbing her arm sheepishly as she cocked her head. "It's.. just a thing I made."
His finger lightly traced the tissue paper as he studied it. "These look like the flowers I gave you."
