In the blink of an eye, Natalia flew down and knocked over Jack, taking him to the ground. Her hand was on his neck, and her eyes glowed fiercely.
Natalia didn't move and her hand began to glow. "Natalia," Jack said, trying to sit up, his hood slipping off his head. "Natalia. Don't do this." She cocked her head, but forced him back down, her eyes flashing.
Avice hesitated, her hands shaking with uncertainty as she looked around before taking a deep breath and jumping to ram into Natalia, hoping to push her off.
At the last second, Natalia lifted a hand and rested it against Avice's chest, her eyes flashing. A loud bang came from her palm, and Avice was thrown back forcefully. Jack gasped before shouting at the crew. "Keep her back! Don't let her do that again!" It took them a moment to move, but they quickly followed his command, holding Avice back.
She blinked, shaking her head to regain coordination before struggling against the restraint. "Let me go!"
"Natalia," he said, his blue eyes searching her familiar face. "Stop. Stop. Wake up. It's me." The light in her eyes flickered. Jack hesitated before reaching up to hold her face in his hands. "Nat. It's me. It's your brother. Wake up." The light faded and she blinked, her robin egg eyes wet with tears. She started shaking violently, a sob escaping her mouth as she sat back. "Oh my God. Oh my God, Jack."
He sat up warily as she backed away, covering her mouth with her hands. "Nat," he said gently, reaching out to her. "Nat, it's okay. You're okay." She shuddered, hiding her face in her hands. Jack studied her before turning to the crew. "We have to move. Get ready."
His gaze lingered on her for a moment, but strangely enough, the expression on his face was not apologetic. He stood up, helping his sister up. "Let's move out."
There was a moment as the door was thrown open and dozens of guards hurried in. There was a pause. "Oh, Hell," Jack muttered.
As the number of guards began to die down, the crew began to get closer to the door, almost free. Suddenly, Avice would feel a sharp pain in her stomach. If she looked down, she would see the point of a sword protruding from her.
