“It’ll help you, trust me.”
"Hmph. I guess."
He gave her a small smile before opening his arms to her.
She went to him, her eyes thoughtful. "I love you."
He kissed the top of her head. “I love you too, baby.”
"Don't get sick, okay?"
“I make no promises.”
"What did I say earlier?! No kisses for you."
"And yet you're practically in my lap."
"Still no kisses. Shame on you."
“That’s a very rude way to thank your soup-bringer.”
She squinted at him, moving back to her side of the bed. "Hm."
He sighed dramatically, crossing his arms. “I just want to be near you. Is that too much to ask?”
She squinted at him. "Yes.."
He pouted, opening his arms to her again.
She hesitated before wrapping her arms around him. "I hate you."
He grinned in satisfaction. “Obviously.”
She rolled her eyes. "I guess you can have your three kisses back. I guess."
“But I thought you hated me?”
"Shut up. I do hate you, but I secretly don't."
