It didn't work. He muttered before his eyes themselves open, landing lightly on her. "Avice?"
She blinked, before frowning. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you."
He smiled slightly, closing his eyes as he rested his head on her shoulder. "Mm. You're okay, baby."
She ran her fingers through his hair soothingly. "It's better you sleep, though."
He turned his face into her neck. "Mm.. but I'm not tired."
She chuckled warmly. "You sure?"
“Mm,” He murmured, starting to drift off again.
She continued to run her fingers through his hair, humming softly under her breath.
He paused, his eyes still closed, before he began to speak. “Do you know how much I love you?”
She seemed surprised, and spoke softly in reply. "A lot?'
He nodded slowly, his face turned into her neck. “More than anything.”
"I love you too," she said quietly. "More than anything. I love you."
He laughed slightly, his voice low and peaceful. “And that is a miracle.”
She smiled, her fingers gently brushing his jaw. "Is it?"
“You love me,” he said softly. “That’s a privilege I never thought would be granted to me.”
She kissed the top of his head. "Loving you is a privilege itself."
“Hm. Agree to disagree,” he replied, rubbing her back slowly.
She shook her head. "Well, I think it is. You're the best thing I've known in my existence."
He kissed her neck lightly. “You think that.”
"I know that," she told him, tilting her head slightly.
