He was shaking and his breaths were coming in short gasps. He flinched when she spoke, turning to look at her warily. It took a moment for him to remember where he was and he slowly relaxed, his eyes still wide.
Avice blinked, but moved back slightly to give him space, offering closeness with open arms if he chose. "You're okay.."
He studied her as if trying to gauge her intentions before slowly going into her embrace, his body extremely tense. "Sorry, sorry," he muttered.
She pulled away to take his face in her hands, making sure she was cautious as she gently kissed his forehead. "It's okay. I promise."
His blue eyes were terrified, darting between the two of hers. His shaking hands came up to rest on top of hers and he didn't look away from her, his eyes wide. "I love you."
"I love you too," she replied softly, her thumb gently brushing his cheekbone before she moved in to embrace him again.
She kissed his temple, her voice soft as she sang a quiet tune. "Hold me close and hold me fast.. A magic spell you cast.." Her voice was gentle, and barely above a whisper.
"This is la vie en rose." She kissed ran her fingers through his hair. "When you kiss me heaven sighs, and though I close my eyes, I see la vie en rose.."
" And when you speak angels sing from above, every day words seem to turn into love songs.. Give your heart and soul to me, and life will always be la vie en rose."
